Rachel grew up in Alaska and was raised by parents who instilled in her the importance of good cooking and its power to bring people together. They also made sure to bring her outside enough for her to realize what an amazing place she lived in and that it needs to be treated as such. These values were all honed in University while majoring in Environmental Studies and Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. As well as living with and cooking for a bunch of roommates. Founding Foods is the perfect way to bring all of these passions together.
SHANE SCHOOLMAN - RESEARCH
Shane befriended Rachel and Sean in the foothills of the rockies, finding that feeling of home in the climbing and hiking trips. He graduated from University of Colorado with a degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. He joined Founding Foods to take the first step towards making positive environmental impacts and the change we need to be in the world.
Nicole Bellisle - Operations and Strategy
Nicole has led (or co-founded) a total of 8 mission-driven companies, including global startups such as Leaders on Purpose and One Earth Designs, and has managed programs that have collectively reached thousands of executives and entrepreneurs around the world. Most recently, she has held leadership positions at Impact Hub Boulder, Techstars Boulder, and Harvard University's Executive Education for Sustainability Leadership. What she loves most in the world is creating sustainable business models for companies that seek to move the needle in their industry, ultimately bringing people and planet into deeper harmony through conscious business.
When she's not creating business strategy or running operations, she is a Reiki Master in Boulder, CO, an urban permaculture farmer, and a facilitator of global mastermind groups for fellow conscious entrepreneurs.
Jordan Shirestone - Sales and Production
Rhys - Sales
Rhys has a fierce passion for sustainability and has been pursuing ways to close humanity’s careless loop of consumption and waste since he majored in International Studies at Utah State University’s College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences. He paid for college expenses with door to door sales in the summer and served as Regional Manager of a large solar company after graduating. Rhys was literally researching feral pigs as a sustainable meat source when he met Rachel and the two quickly realized they shared a passionate vision that she was already on the path to realizing with Founding Foods. He splits his time slanging FF goodies, permaculture farming, cheffing up vegetarian meals, studying sustainable techniques such as Aquaponics and circular mycology, making conscious music and videos, and exploring what remains of the natural world.
